Adding a state to a control that indicates a row hasn't been saved yet Great points, particularly about the whole page is the thing to save. The only reason behind wanting an unsaved indicator is to make sure users know that they need to save the page - otherwise, there's no visual distinction between rows that are approved (saved) and ones that are going to be approved (unsaved). |

How can I keep up-to-date with the latest thinking about designing complex, rich applications? +1 for looking at comparable services. There's something to be said for looking for ideas outside your domain too, but other people that are solving the same problem as you can be a great source of inspiration. |

Where can I find info about rudimentary navigation / architecture paradigms? If you're talking about intranets, the Nielsen/Norman Group has a report including full IA examples. nngroup.com/reports/topic/information-architecture |

What UX training or conferences do you recommend? They haven't announced the 2013 conference yet, but I'm a big fan of the UX Web Summit from Environments for Humans. It's online, relatively cheap, and full of good stuff. Here's last year's: environmentsforhumans.com/2012/ux-web-summit |
