I try my best to share the knowledge that I have come across with others to keep the knowledge cycle goin. I love the art of web design. Semantic, easy to use, awesome websites is what really gets me excited. I love HTML(5), CSS(3) Javascript (the good parts) and Wordpress with a strong focus on usability. I also love to read, bike, swim, and draw.

Embedding options in a forum It may not be good "user experience" but neither is having your users viewing explicit material that someone thought would be funny to post. Think of it the same way as how shoes and a shirt are required to go into some buildings. It may be "inconvenient" to some people to put shoes and a shirt on but in the end it is for the betterment of the others in that build and eventually becomes standard practice. This thinking might also be a side affect of my year as a Network Security major. :) |

Small real-estate for long list choices By "small real-estate" do you mean that they will be using a mobile device? Or do you mean that the pop-up screen will just be small in size? |

“Adding and Subtracting a Value” Horizontal or Vertical Controls better affordance? Edited to avoid confussion about potential userbase. |

“Adding and Subtracting a Value” Horizontal or Vertical Controls better affordance? Aha I understand now. I guess the principle of proximity still applies anyways. |

Does the use of a WYSIWYG editor by itself improve the UX? Could you explain how you are currently making the user enter content? Are you making them enter it into the html document or are you getting the content from them and then doing this yourself? |

“Adding and Subtracting a Value” Horizontal or Vertical Controls better affordance? That's a valid point. I guess I more understood the question as this being something that the operators would have to know inside and out. |

Level selection on dropdown Yes, I would set the default as "Off". As far as the wording is concerned, would it be possible for you to show the user a demo of what "off" or "2 levels" would look like? I really believe that would be the most user friendly way to approach it without having to write a paragraph explaining what it means. |
