Is my suspicion correct, that QR codes will be a short-lived standard with little effect? The other day I was paying for entry to a ski-field, and on the window there was a 'touch your NFC phone here' to access something or other. Problem was, it was a drive-thru type window and was impossible to reach without getting out of the car. In addition to that, here it's illegal to touch your mobile phone while operating a motor vehicle. |

Why don't ATMs give you cash before your card? @Bart van Heukelom - good point about chip cards. In Australia, we have ATMs that don't retain your card; they must check the PIN against the bank regardless. |
