comment Video automatically playing on a home or landing page - studies and data
You won't find data on the effectiveness of video for landing pages. That is to broad. What you're looking for is effectiveness of different video messages and visual techniques. For that, you should speak to a professional video producer.

comment Is 'usability' enough for a company portal?
Difficult to see what is being asked here. You're asking if it's a valid argument, but I don't read anything that sounds like an argument. To me it sounds like you are rambling.

comment Why doesn't the Mac OSX finder have a Cut option?
@VincentvanScherpenseel that's true on most OS platforms. Moving a file to another volume is physically a copy. Moving in the same volume is a change of file indicator.

comment Do users care about https?
No, the transaction is not secured by Cloudflare. Only the HTTP connection is. The transaction from a user perspective is the financial transaction between consumer and merchant.

comment Best practices for multiple buttons
I don't think it's necessary to make the delete so visually intense with the red background. I saw that first, and then have to look for the other buttons. You have a confirm for the delete so why add more notice to the action? I'd make it in the same style as the "cancel" and "save as" links and keep them together.

comment Why isn't the “remember me” checkbox in login forms enabled by default?
@webvitaly in the year this question was ask things have changed. It's now become standard for browsers like Chrome/Firefox to prompt the user to save their passwords. This gives control to the user, and next time they visit the fields are pre-populated. I find this approach better.

comment Is there a better character than the asterisk to indicate a modified document?
@LarsH maybe that's the birthplace of this UI feature? :)

comment How can I decide whether to use a button or a hyperlink?
You could detach Tax Bill from the group, but keep it on the same horizontal line. You're using the correct icon from jQuery UI to represent an external link. Instead of calling it Tax Bill. You could label it by the name of the external website. That would be more clear.

comment Is there a better character than the asterisk to indicate a modified document?
@JoshuaTaylor thanks guys! I didn't know about the dot. It's good that this is supported at the OS level. That makes it a standard ;)

comment Is a dummy button an appropriate way to show that a box is clickable?
Why not use a Add To Cart button like everyone else? You're doing something fancy for the sake of being fancy. I fail to see how this is easier for the user.

comment Where to place icons in a checklist? Before or after?
@Chandru There are exceptions to the rule. Sometimes the label is on the left so that the check marks align with other fields, and reading labels is not inconsistent. But, when on their own it's left-to-right.
