@emory Good point. A system assigned password would be a whole different UX issue in itself, I.E. how cryptic or dictionary to make the passwords. I know for me, anything passed 1 or 2 mutations of a dictionary word, I'm writing it down and need extra (memory) effort on my brain to make sure I remembered it correctly. Plus, one tends to remember something that they created as opposed to what is given.

Well, a poor UX would/could lead to the legal aspect. But for the intent of the question, I am just interested in the UX point-of-view. I just through in the CAN-SPAM Act as the motive for the question.
