comment Differenciating a local search from a global search in one screen
My provisory solution for the current country is a combo box that allows the user to write the country or select it from a list.

We are getting somewhere. This seems like a good solution. There is one problem though. That selection kinda introduces repetition in UI since there is already a something that shows the current country and allows the user to change it. I want to keep it as simple as possible, but I guess you gave a big step in that direction. thanks :)

Thanks for your help Adriaan. It is the same problem. The grooveshark uses a tactic similar to the spotlight. The point is that the type of data is the same, so that organization doesn't make sense :/

That works well in the case of the cities. However, in the case of the songs isn't quite intuitive to search for "R u mine?, UK". Actually, it is quite common that the user might not know where the music is from.

That is why I didn't want to give the example of the cities :/. The problem is that the user has info in the interface that he is seeing things for United States. If I put one search bar there it will induce that the search is for United States only.

This converges to the second solution pointed out by @Da01. I thought in that solution but it seems so... meh :/

I thought in the icon-solution. I really need to create this difference because the app requires it. There are two modes of visualization. One that only shows albuns and other that only shows songs (I don't know if there will be a mixed view aswell).

comment How to display a connected boxes with inputs and outputs in a smartphone?
That question is pertinent. The truth is that I can do that limitation if the simplification is worth it. This is a system that I am developing and I am my own costumer, so I am kinda free to do some simplifications as long as the expected value in those modifications is worth it.

Although this is a good proposal I belive that this can make some confusion where 10 blocks or so are connected. Also it doesn't provide a great view from all the schema. If I scroll up, in your case, I know SOMETHING is connected. But what? Knowing what is connected matters in this case.
