Settings dialog with multiple tabs: same options on two different tabs? However, here's an idea that we have come up with: in the situations where this happens, have the options in both tabs, but have a link in one of the tabs to the other tab in the place where the "common options" would otherwise go. This way the user gets accustomed to editing that feature in the other tab. Thoughts? |

That is again a good idea, but I feel it wouldn't be feasible in my situation, mainly because the other non-common features are best not put together. |

Settings dialog with multiple tabs: same options on two different tabs? That's a good point... I perhaps could prevent the user from thinking this through careful wording of the labels. Concerning your screenshot: Unfortunately the common settings in my circumstance are only common to those two tabs, and would be out of place being common to everything. |

Wizard or Tab ? So most tax software gets it wrong? All the ones I've ever seen use a tabbed structure. Does it make a difference when you are working with a HUGE wizard, which tax software certainly is? |
