Wow, great challenge. How much space do you have to work with?

comment Thoughts on mobile 'matrix' style navigation?
@bijanv I've dealt with some design sessions with stakeholders (execs) where all IA gets forced into this springboard style nav. Perhaps that's why early versions of these apps leverage that style. "Obey investors, get more funding."

comment What are some examples of wireframe workshop activities?
That workshop activity sounds great. I would tend to throw a hallway test in there somewhere if possible, once the wireframe is through a couple iterations. This can add a whole new dimension to the exercise and is an important part of the process.

This sticky header is one of my favorite navigation improvements in the last 5 years. I wish is was more widespread.

comment New design pattern for tagging documents?
I guess your question is whether I've seen this before? I haven't seen a browser plugin that does this exactly. www.mystickies.com is similar, but allows a more detailed note. You can then tag your notes. Your screenshot looks more appealing and elegant, but dragging-to-tag seems less useful for long web docs. I could see it being more useful for UI Mockup reviews, or online images/photography.

comment Where can I find statistics on the use of mobile app features?
I would agree with @superduperfly, good luck finding anything beyond anecdotal evidence. From a quick survey around our office both delete and set as wallpaper functions are used rarely. We settled on 'set as wallpaper' is used once every 3 months. Those with smaller amounts of device storage use the delete function more frequently, probably once per month.
