comment Currency formatting for transactions in another country's currency
@Bobson, not at all. The currency would be the US dollar, but it has different designators in different languages (e.g., the name may be “dollari” or “доллар”). Using the shortest pattern, $500 would be “500 $” in French; using a pattern with longer currency symbol, “500 $US”; using a pattern with currency name, “500 dollars des États-Unis”.

comment Is there an html character entity which can represent “Admin”?
Since most computer users in the world never used Unix(-like) shells, still less as root, I think the important part is “there is no universally recognized admin symbols”.

comment Can/Should I Label an informational span for screen readers?
@albert, HTML5 documents might be a bit fuzzy in this issue, but the intent is that “user interface” refers to controls. A label element that is not associated with a labelable element has no meaning assigned to it.

comment eCommerce - Which currency to show on receipt?
The receipt must specify the sum in the currency actually used. In most countries, it would be illegal to do otherwise. An estimate in other currencies can be given at earlier phases, if clearly flagged as informative and non-binding. Note that even if you use some real-time conversion rates, the bank of the customer may use completely different rates and may impose some charges.

comment What is an aesthetically pleasing font for programmers?
How does this relate to User Experience? Are you designing an application that has programmers as end users? Do you expect the end users to be incapable of selecting a font that suits them, then?

comment Html best input type for boolean values selection
Even then, it is best to show the options, instead of using a dropdown. It immediately tells that these are the options and which, if any, is the default. If neither is set the default, the user still has the “don’t want to tell” option, just implicitly (do not select either).
