comment On Mobile Web, what's the best way to present Date of Birth form fields?
"Having three separate fields means I can allow people to type 1 or 01 into the field and treat them both as the same thing" Why would this be dependent on having 3 separate fields, rather than just more flexible data input?

comment Data on benefits of show password reset form
There's a lot of literature on it, e.g. Jakob Nielsen at nngroup.com/articles/stop-password-masking; Lukew at lukew.com/ff/entry.asp?1653; Bruce Schneier ar schneier.com/blog/archives/2009/06/the_problem_wit_2.html.

Not raw data, analysed data ideally. We have a lot of UX claims that a show/hide approach is better; I'm just looking for someone to say 'We tried it and it was better / worse because ...'. There's surely some research that's been done into this.

Struggling to see where in that post there is evidence of the reduction in the number of calls - can you be more specific?

comment Value of UX in E-Learning? | Case Studies Needed
Can't point to a case study (hence this is a comment not a response) but if challenged, I argued that the focus of the learner must be on the content: a crappy UX shifts their attention onto the interaction and away from the thing they should be focussed on.

comment Why have two mouse buttons when one is sufficient?
"Giving the average person a right mouse button is like giving a bald man a comb". This is a really horrible justification from Apple. They devolve a lot of the understanding to the user, so you might try alt, shift, ctrl, or some other combination of keys until you've learned. 2-button mice make it easier to separate out the manipulation from the management functionality: you have 2 options rather than a keyboard-full!
