Nested Creation Forms @KitGrose I really like this answer, and it could have application for another situation that I'm designing. Do you happen to have any examples of it functioning in the wild? |

Designing a calendar for school @user194076 , I have made an edit with my thoughts on an ok way to search through large numbers of students. Hope it helps! P.S. If you like this answer, mark it as accepted :-) |

Designing a calendar for school Glad you like it! I think the mega-dropdown might not work when there are such a large number of students. I'll have a think about another way to do it. |

What control to use to select multiple months? From the answers already given, I think it might be worth clarifying what you mean by a "range of months within a year". Does the user first select the year (e.g. 2011), and then choose the range (e.g. Feb-Aug)? Do you want them to be able to select multiple ranges (e.g. Jan-May and Oct-Nov)? Can they select a range that spans two years (e.g. Nov-Feb)? If so, how do you determine which year it refers to? |

Best UI pattern for letting a user assign items to groups This was going to be what I suggested. I think if you had a dual drag/drop and checkbox option it could be both intuitive and speedy. E.G. When clicking on an item it would display a small checkbox showing the 2-4 groups very close by. This would combine with the (in my opinion) excellent drag and drop layout. |

Patterns and models for representing Many-to-many relationships in interface design Sorry, I don't have a wire frame for it... Still working on prototypes. Maybe you could ask a separate question with more details and I will do a balsamiq mockup. |

Patterns and models for representing Many-to-many relationships in interface design Hi @Tara ... I haven't had much luck finding general resources, so mostly I have to figure it out on a case-by-case basis. In my current project I am toying with side-by-side lists of each of the entities. When an item is selected, it transforms all of the eligible items for a relationship into checkboxes. |

Building logical criteria (with AND , OR, etc) No problem @Swoosh, it was an interesting exercise |

Building logical criteria (with AND , OR, etc) Note: I think I would re-label the "Add another Action" button to "Add another Rule". But then I would have to re-do the screen shots |
