How to create realistic mockups? I tend to disagree with the 'sketched' point of view. If you're going to sketch - do so. If it's a wireframe then make it look like a wireframe. If it's a prototype then there is not anything wrong with adding design to it. Adding a sketched look to a wireframe is an attempt to let reviewers know 'this is not a design' - which I find patronising. |

How do I make a sitemap for a non-trivial and non-linear e-commerce web app? Do you mean sitemap as in what you create to create the site or sitemap as in the page some sites have? |

How to test user in real situation? Look up 'contextual enquiry'. It's more user research than user testing. 1 hour sessions work better than full day sessions. |

What is the reasoning behind grayscale icons? Colour etc. are issues related to visual design. |

How can I tell stories in my UX portfolio? UX people often can code but dont. Coding during a project leads to engineer thinking which leads to solutions being picked not for the best UX but on how easy they can be implemented. An eningeering background is useful when it comes to negotiating with engineers, mostly for when they say something can't be done. A good engineer should love a challenge! |

How can I tell stories in my UX portfolio? The means of delivery is less important than the content in this case. |

Size of Background Image for Landing Page This is an engineering question not a UX question. The only thing engineering needs to do is not slow or get in the way of the UX. |

Will it be better for making call-for-action buttons in warm colors? This is a visual design question not a pure user experience question. |
