Please do. But in your job portal example, we are seeing two personas? The job seeker and the administrator? You are telling me that the creation of the personas comes after the interviews but shouldn't I figure out before the interviews begins that the job portal will be targeted against job seekers and administrators? Otherwise I don't know who to interview right? So I have to start by picking out some high level target groups? And then interview them about the goals, needs, problems and thinking? If I see a one or two patterns during the interviews I know that I have one or two personas?

comment Breadcrumbs: ok to place at the top of a page?
@CharlesBoyung I was apparently a bit unclear. My point was about search engine optimization. You don't get banned from Google if you put more than 100 links on your web page. From the same article: "Does Google automatically consider a page spam if your page has over 100 links? No, not at all." But from a user experience perspective I fully agree that something could be wrong with your site architecture if need to put more than 100 links on your page.

Sure, download their pdf "Google search engine optimization guide" and navigate to page ten. This is what they say "Ensure more convinience for users by using 'breadcrumb lists'. By the way, the 100 links per page rule isnt that valid today - check out this blog post by Matt Cutts about the subject mattcutts.com/blog/how-many-links-per-page

comment Visual language for fixed and fluid widths
I agree that you might not want to specify exact how wide the columns should be. That is something that the web designer should decide.

comment Usability research on sticky headers?
Personally, I really dislike the concept. I always find it irrating except on Facebook and Twitter for some reason. Maybe because it's kept to a minimum.

comment Should we include a “Back to top” button for mobile websites?
Yes, that is correct. The question is about accessibility.

comment How do left-handed people hold smartphones?
I'm left handed and I always use my left hand and my left hand thumb to navigate and write. Both in landscape mode and portrait mode. If I need to pinch (for example to zoom) I use my right hand while holding it with my left.
