Over the last couple of days, I've had conversations with people about the content of UX guidelines. What should be included in a UX guidelines?

This is far too broad a question for us to answer I'm afraid. There is no right answer to this one. You can have a read of some of the many similar questions that were asked over the years here such as ux.stackexchange.com/questions/750/… but we can't really give a useful answer to such a broad question as this i'm afraid. – JonW Dec 14 '12 at 19:02

It's very hard to say you need to include "this" exact set of guidelines. Remember a core principle behind good UX design is that of user centric design. Your users will dictate the experience they want. A set of UX design guidelines for a shopping website v's a tabloid-news paper site will be vastly different.
