I recently am handling a maintenance project in java. Mainly I am facing the problem of reading tons of code, which I feel frustrating. Can anyone suggest easy way to understand the code? Share your strategy used in understanding the code faster.

Name convention is not helpful to that extent.

Possible migrate this question to Programmers? – Benny Skogberg May 10 '12 at 12:28
This isn't a User Experience question. What do you mean by 'understand' code? Are you talking about the formatting of the code to make it readable, or actually understanding the code? – JonW May 10 '12 at 12:32

@BennySkogberg - nope. It's not constructive for Programmers and there are existing questions on this topic already. – ChrisF May 10 '12 at 12:34

Yes, by all means have a search on programmers.se to see whether you can get some answers to existing questions, but don't ask this question there, it's nowhere near detailed enough to be answerable there (or on any StackExchange site to be fair). – JonW May 10 '12 at 12:37
