I'd like suggestions for a building architecture book** covering UX ? (since we've had a few questions recently on aspects of the built environment).

(**not websites - but a reference book - with a good contents page and good indexing)

Something which covered 'signage' / signposting would be particularly useful.

This question is too general for UX. Could you rephrase it? Perhaps "Where can I find references on architectural usability?" The only on-topic issue of architecture is the user experience portion... engineering and style are a large part of architecture, but are off-topic in this forum. – Myrddin Emrys May 4 '12 at 19:43

Research things like accessibility, interior design, wayfinding design, etc. One good book that is great for both architecture and UX/Design is "How Buildings Learn" – DA01 May 4 '12 at 19:47
For something more focused on the community A Pattern Language may be a good place to start. – Joshua Drake May 4 '12 at 19:59

Book recommendations are not a good fit for a Q&A website I'm afraid. See this post on stackoverflow for a good explaination as to why they're not ideal questions. – JonW May 4 '12 at 20:01

@JonW sadly after reading that and several linked posts, I'm starting to agree. – Joshua Drake May 4 '12 at 20:29
