Here is an excellent starting point for reading up on typography: – Marko Nikolovski Apr 14 '12 at 18:48
If you're looking for a great general starter resource, The Smashing Book 1 has a whole chapter on typography and it's very good. I closed the question as our format doesn't fit the "what do you guys like" sort of question well. – Ben Brocka Apr 14 '12 at 19:13
