My opinion is that UI usually should not be designed solely by developers, since they usually do not see the "bigger picture" or the users' point of view. Most of my colleagues disagree. I am interested in your experiences.

  2. Which team do they belong to?
  3. Is there a dedicated UI designer / usability expert for each product?
  4. Which part of the development process do they "fit in"?
  5. Are the plans / mockups designed by them and then corrected by someone else, or does someone else designs the UI and then do they perform the correction?

  5. Developer plans/mockups designs and corrections are done through collaboration with PM's, BA's, and other developers.
