I'm looking to segment users to either go down a path where there is a wizard-like UI that walks the user through a process. The alternative is a path for advanced users who are already familiar with the process.

The iconography style should relate closely to the type of Web domain you are working into. I can give your some narrative examples - Say, if it were for Sports (not binded for sports though!) a beginner who would be one with a safety belt around in water, whereas an expert with a swimming pose in water. Metaphors are best way to demonstrate this scenario of Beginners vs Experts - It could be equivalent to a front view of a scooter with "L" board against a speeding motorcycle (expert). |
